Principal's Spot

It is with great pride and enthusiasm that I introduce myself as the new principal of John F. Kennedy Elementary. I am honored to join this vibrant and dedicated community of educators, learners, families, and partners who are committed to excellence in education.

I was raised in Kansas City, Kansas and attended schools in our district from K-12. I am happy to be a native and product of our community. With 23 years of experience in the field of education, I have served as a classroom teacher, instructional coach, and school administrator. My educational background includes a bachelor degree in Family Studies and Community Services from Kansas State University, a master’s degree in Instruction & Curriculum from Pittsburg State University, and an education specialist degree in PreK-12 Leadership from Grand Canyon University as well as credentials from Elevate Leadership. Throughout my career, I have focused on creating inviting learning environments, improving academic achievement, developing leadership capacity in others, and fostering a strong culture of collaboration and respect.

I am excited to partner with all stakeholders to build on the school's strengths, celebrate our diverse community, and explore new opportunities for growth. As we embark on this journey together, I commit to open communication, transparent leadership, and a steadfast dedication to our shared mission & vision.

Mission: To foster a high performing culture where highly effective educators produce high achieving students for the present and the future.

Vision: Every student is provided the right tools (SEL support, instruction, intervention) to be successful no matter their race or background.

I look forward to meeting each and every student along with their parents/guardians and working together to continue making JFK Elementary a place where students thrive and dreams take flight.

Please know that my door is always open, and I welcome your thoughts, feedback, and collaboration.
With gratitude and anticipation,

Mrs. Chantel L. Mason
Principal of John F. Kennedy Elementary School
